Tattoo tribute to fallen soldier


The best mate of the young Bromsgrove soldier, killed in Afghanistan, has had a tattoo of him put on his back.

Simon Broome grew up with 18-year-old Private Robert Laws, and went to school with him - as a tribute to he mate he decided to have an image of his mate tattooed on his back.
Tattoo tribute to fallen soldierThe funeral with full military honours was held at St John's Church, in his home town of Bromsgrove.

Pte Robert Laws, from 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment, died while taking part in a major offensive in Helmand province on 4 July.

"I got a tattoo to recall him – he’s always with me now. He's a legend – all his mates loved him for what he was, his cheeky miniscule grin and everything."
